Inflation was reported to have rose by 3.2% in March down from 3.4% in February. Economists are now more cautious of interest rate cuts and it’s predicted the Bank of England (BoE) are more likely to reduce the base-rate towards the end of 2024. The impact on mortgage interest-rates is likely to remain flat, this can be seen as reassuring from the volatile market at the end of 2022 and early 2023 but perhaps not positive news for consumers expecting rate-cuts throughout this year.
